Volvo Environment Prize is one of the world's leading environmental science awards instituted in 1988 to reward outstanding scientific discoveries or innovations broadly falling within the environmental sphere. The foundation and the initiator, Volvo Group, wanted to make a more significant impression and increase awareness of the award in Sweden and internationally. Narva works together with Tomorrow Media on the assignment.
A video about the laureate was produced to reach a new audience. The film was a central part of the communication; it was shown at the award ceremony, distributed to the media, and published on YouTube and the website. Selected journalist contacts were also an essential part of the work to reach out and create attention before and in connection with the award ceremony. The initiative is communicated through a newsletter to critical individuals and decision-makers at several hundred leading universities, think tanks, and environmental and sustainability organizations to increase awareness of the effort.
Both the attention and impact of the award have increased. The number of newsletter recipients has multiplied, and the number of nominations for Volvo's environmental award has risen significantly in recent years.
